How to move Windows 11 taskbar to the left side

Every version of Windows comes with something new, and Windows 11 has also followed the trend. One new thing in Windows 11 is Microsoft’s placement of the Start menu and the taskbar to the center that looks neet. However, I and most PC users are used to the start button at the corner, but Microsoft moved away from its legacy, maybe because tapping on the corner can be tough for touchscreen users.

But, when there is a will, there is a way, and I am here with the simple solution that you might be looking for. I will discuss how to move the Windows 11 taskbar to the side. You won’t need any third-party program, or need to do registry tweaks. Everything can be done right from the Windows 11 settings.

Right-click on the Windows 11 taskbar and click on ‘Taskbar settings’ to open Windows 11 taskbar settings.

Taskbar settings under Personalization will open up and you now have to expand ‘Taskbar behaviors’ to get Windows 11 taskbar on the left side of the screen.

Finally, click on the drop-down menu corresponding to ‘Taskbar alignment’, and select ‘Left’. No hassles of clicking on any extra buttons. The start button or the Windows 11 taskbar is to the left side.

However, there isn’t any straightforward way to change the Windows 11 taskbar position anywhere you like simply by dragging and dropping like it is on Windows 10 or older versions of Windows. You cannot get to move Windows 11 taskbar to the top, or get a vertical alignment of the taskbar easily. There are some registry tweaks, but not everybody is comfortable making such changes, and the old alignment of the taskbar is good to go for most people. That might be the reason, why Microsoft hasn’t made it easy to move the taskbar anywhere on the screen.

So that’s all on how to move the Windows 11 taskbar to the left side. Leave your comments and feedback in the comment section.
