Google Chrome is testing long screenshots on Android. Here’s how to enable scrolling screenshots on Chrome Android


The internet is evolving every day, and today’s dynamic web pages are an instance of how advanced, the internet is today. With web pages displaying a lot of information at once, taking a screenshot is the best way to preserve the information for future use. Not just with web pages, capturing screenshots today is the easiest way on electronic devices to store information in a visual format.

But with scrolling content webpages and apps, we need to capture multiple screenshots after the information fits the screen. However, today, thanks to scrolling aka. long screenshots, we just need one screenshot to keep it all. But, there’s isn’t one way to capture scrolling screenshots, when it comes to mobile devices. But if your scrolling screenshots are largely limited to mobile devices, and you use Chrome, scrolling screenshots are just a few days away.

Enabling scrolling screenshots

However, Chrome is testing the long screenshot feature, and you can try it right now, by changing a Chrome flag. Hope it works for you.

So, let’s begin.

Open the latest version of Google Chrome on your Android, which you can download here, and type in the following link ‘chrome://flags/#chrome-share-long-screenshot'.

Now, tap on the ‘Default’ drop-down menu, and then tap ‘Enabled’.

After that tap on the ‘Relaunch’ button on the bottom of the interface.


It is recommended that you clear Google Chrome from the recent tasks, and restart Chrome from the homescreen.

How to capture long screenshots on Chrome

Now, open any website, and tap on the triple-dot icon.


Next, tap on the ‘Share’ button, and tap on the ‘Long Screenshot’ button. You can alternatively tap on the ‘Screenshot’ button to capture a regular screenshot of the webpage.


Now, tap on the small down arrow to scroll down and capture the next part of the screenshot.


Finally, after you are done, tap on the tick button.


Now, you can annotate the screenshot, by adding text or drawing. Additionally, you can also crop the screenshot, if you want. After you are done, tap on the ‘Next’ button.


Lastly, you can either save the screenshot to your local storage or share the same with the supported apps on your device, using the appropriate buttons.


The feature is still not available officially, and there are bugs. So you can’t count on this feature right now, but hopefully, it will be available shortly by default. I thought of informing you about the nifty feature, because this is indeed useful, and it is worth trying out, even if it doesn’t function seamlessly, at the time of writing this article.
