Windows 11 is now available officially. But should you upgrade? Here’s the answer

Window 11 is here after a lot of speculations, and you can download the ISO right now, create a boot media and finally install it on your existing PC. Trying out a new operating system is always fun, not only for tech enthusiasts but also the general users who want to explore new features on a new operating system. Windows 11 will not be disappointing as you can enjoy some new features with this latest version of Windows.

Within the next few days, you will find systems that come pre-installed with some edition of Windows 11. But the question that needs to be asked is, should you download and install Windows 11 right now, if you are using one of the PCs, officially supported by Microsft. Well, I am here with the answer to this question.

If you want to install Windows 11 right now on your main system, wait! This isn’t the right time for such a commitment. Let’s find out why you should stick to Windows 10 or the current version of Windows that you are using before making the move.

Driver issues can arise

Most major driver manufacturers have already released stable drivers for Windows 11 computers. Coming to graphics, Nvidia has already released the game-ready drivers, and the same applies to AMD.

So, it is less likely that you will face troubles using your Windows 11 computer with the latest Windows 11 drivers. However, if you use some specific hardware from a not-so-reputed manufacturer, functionalities can be highly limited and the device might not work at all with Windows 11 right now.

Unfixed bugs can be irritating

No software, even operating systems are devoid of bugs, and in the early stages of development, they are aplenty. After installing Windows 11 in the very first stage, several users reported memory leaks and taskbar-related issues among others.

There can also be device-specific bugs, which Microsoft might not acknowledge or fix right now. That said, you might have to wait for months before Windows 11 turns out to be buttery smooth for you. As Windows 11 starts getting some initial updates, these bugs will eventually be fixed.

Some programs might malfunction

Well, people use a computer for a plethora of reasons. If you use a specific program on your computer, that might not work perfectly with Windows 11 at this stage. For example, people have reported problems using Oracle VirtualBox, and Dell’s SmartByte on Windows 11.

If you are using a program that receives fewer updates over time, there are chances, it is written to work perfectly with Windows 10 and Windows 8, or in some cases, the older versions like Windows XP or 7. Thus, the specific program will work with limited functionalities, or might not work at all, on your new Windows 11 computer. However, the upcoming updates to the program should make it properly compatible with Windows 11.

Games can create troubles

Well, Windows 11 can turn out to be a paradise for gamers, thanks to features like Direct Storage, and Auto HDR. But, most games aren’t yet updated to run flawlessly with Windows 11. But, it’s too early to expect that sweetness.

The minor incompatibility of the games with Windows 11, along with the other intrinsic Windows 11 bugs can make the gameplay experience worse on Windows 11, obviously at this initial stage of release. Experiences like frame drops and PC overheating are some problems that will be common and can be enough to totally ruin the gameplay experience.

Just like any other operating system, or software, Windows 11 is also currently going through the initial stage of release, and facing problems is just a part of it. There’s not much to get furious about. We can just wait till Microsoft acknowledge the problems and eventually fix them. Software developers will also roll out updates, making them run smooth on Windows 11.

So, considering everything, this isn’t the right time to make the move to Windows 11 as it can be a hit or miss. However, if you are having a compatible PC that supports Windows 11, you can try the operating system there. But doing the same with your everyday-use PC can deviate your targets, disrupt your WFH activities, or ruin your gaming sessions after a hard day’s work.

So, that was all. Have anything to say. Feel free to comment on the same below.
