How to use Google Assistant to send WhatsApp messages handsfree

WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular messaging app today, and it’s more an action today than a product. We are quite familiar with ‘WhatsApp me this or that.’; and that signifies how popular WhatsApp is, in today’s world. Among several cool things that you can do on WhatsApp, one among them is the ability to use WhatsApp in a hands-free way.

What I mean is, there is a way to use Google Assistant on Android devices to send WhatsApp messages without touching your phone or even opening the WhatsApp app altogether. So how can you do that! I am here with a short tutorial on how to use Google Assistant to send WhatsApp messages. This can be useful in situations, I will discuss later in the story.

So, without any further delay let’s get started with how you can ask Google Assistant to send messages on WhatsApp.

Sending WhatsApp messages using Google Assistant

Bring the Google Assistant in any way you want. You can open it either by saying ‘Hey Google’ or ‘OK Google’. Otherwise, you can use the swipe gestures to bring Google Assistant, or simply use the Google Assistant shortcut on the home screen, if you have it.

After that, you just have to ask Google Assistant to send the message in any way you want. Say, for example, I want to send a message that says ‘How is everything going’ to one of my contacts with the name AAA on WhatsApp. Both the message and the recipient will obviously be different in your case. Here is a way you can ask Google Assistant to send this message on WhatsApp.

Send How is everything going to AAA on WhatsApp.

You can say this sentence in any other way, however, try not to complicate it, as that may lead to a false interpretation of the message by Google Assistant, and you have to repeat the steps.

After that, Google Assistant will show the message, and will subsequently ask, whether you finally want to send it. However, this can be a hit or miss, as Google Assistant will send the message right away, without further questions. So, be careful about what you want to send.

Else, if asked, you can either use the ‘Send’ button, or confirm the message delivery by saying ‘Yes’, ‘Yes, send it’, or something similar to that.

Alternatively, you can break the process into multiple steps, if Google Assistant can’t parse the complete command for some reason.

Just say, ‘Send a message to AAA on WhatsApp’. Next, you can either write the message or just say the same, when Google Assistant asks you to do so.

So, that was easy. Now, you might think, why use Google Assistant for sending private WhatsApp messages, as your message will be audible to everybody around you. Well, this might not be for sending just private messages.

There can be plenty of situations when this can come in handy. Say, for example, you are driving, and want to pass on some important information to your colleague, or your hands are dirty to use the phone for sending a WhatsApp message. This can also be useful if you want to send some important message while cooking. You can fit in this small piece of Jigsaw puzzle anywhere in your life, to enhance the experience of using WhatsApp.
