Instagram is undoubtedly a popular social network platform by Meta or Facebook, and it is a great place for sharing your everyday moments, just like most other similar platforms. However, Instagram is mostly limited to smartphones, at least when it comes to uploading content. If, however, you want to back out and delete your Instagram account, the process is not going to be as easy as making a grilled sandwich. 

You can surely uninstall the Instagram app on your smartphone, but that is not how to deactivate your Instagram account in the true sense of the term. So, today on InkedFreedom, I will give the answer to how to deactivate my Instagram account, if you are pondering on this question for a long time.

How to deactivate your Instagram account

If you want to know how to delete your Instagram account permanently, there is no such option in black and white within the Instagram app.

So, to get started, you have to open Instagram on the browser through the following link and log in with your credentials. You can log in either on your PC or your smartphone’s web browser. After you are done with the login process, just click on the following link to land on the account deletion page. In the account deletion page, as shown in the screenshot below, you have to choose a reason, why you want to deactivate your Instagram account. You can choose any of the reasons from the drop-down menu, and once you are done, enter your Instagram account password. Finally click on the ‘Delete’ button, as shown below. You will be asked to confirm your activity by tapping on the ‘OK’ button.

Now, your account will be deleted after one month, as shown in the screenshot below. 

All your Instagram data will be on the server for one month as a failsafe. You can log back in, and access your Instagram account as nothing happened. So, that was all about how you can delete your account on Instagram by visiting the Instagram website.
