How to capture scrolling screenshots on Chrome for Android

Capturing screenshots is something that we do every now and then, and why not? With the press of just two buttons, we can capture a lot of on-screen information instantly, and can not just save it locally, but we can also share it effortlessly. However, if there is some information beyond the screen, where we need to scroll down, we have to capture multiple screenshots to capture the complete information.

Thankfully, there are scrolling screenshots that can capture information beyond the screen, but there’s no one-way smartphone manufacturer offering this really useful utility. However, if you mostly use Google Chrome to surf the web, Chrome has a cool feature to capture scrolling screenshots that are easier than you might think. So, today I will talk about how to capture scrolling screenshots on Chrome for Android.

With the method I will discuss here you can also capture scrolling screenshots on Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge. So, let’s get started.

How to capture a scrolling screenshot on Chrome

Open Google Chrome on your Android, and visit the website to capture a scrolling screenshot of the webpage.

On opening the webpage, tap on the triple-dot icon, and then tap on the ‘Share’ button.

Among the several options in the share panel, tap on ‘Long screenshot’.

In the screenshot panel, scroll down, and pull down the down arrow to the bottom of the screen. Repeat the same step unless you reach the bottom of the page or you capture all the information you need.

Refer to the recording below for a clearer understanding.

After you are done, tap on the tick to proceed.

In the next step, you can edit the screenshot in several ways. You can crop the image, add text notes, and do a lot more. After you are done, tap on ‘Next’.

Now, you can either share the long screenshot or save it to your internal storage.

That’s how simple it is to capture scrolling screenshots on Chrome for mobile. You can find the captured screenshots in the ‘Downloads’ directory within your internal memory. However, the only thing that you should note is that if the screenshot is really long, and you want to send the image using WhatsApp or any other chat app, send it as a document. Otherwise, the image will be compressed, and the recipient will be unable to see the contents.
